This document provides a sequential approach to set up your CN5000 Omni-Path Fabric. This guide includes designing space for the Omni-Path hardware, installing the hardware, software, and optionally updating firmware. The guide ends with configuring and then verifying the fabric.
3.1.2.1. Installation Overview
The following outlines the recommended steps for setting up your CN5000 Omni-Path fabric.
Review all release notes related to the version of Omni-Path being installed.
Install Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path SuperNICs in servers.
Install Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path Switches in racks.
Install Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path Director Class Switches in racks.
Connect cabling.
Power up all fabric hardware.
Download software from the Cornelis Customer Center.
Install software and drivers using downloaded RPMs.
Confirm firmware version on the switches and SuperNICs.
Configure the software by editing files for hosts and switches.
Reboot all servers after the software installation and configurations are complete.
Start Fabric Manager on the designated management node.
Use commands to verify the fabric configuration.
