ib_send_bw, as provided by the perftest package, may fail during transient back-pressure, which can happen during highly loaded, high performance testing typically seen when using multiple queue pairs. To avoid this problem with the benchmark, the hfi1 module parameter can be loaded with bulksvc_user_queue_size_pages_log2=5. However, this setting may have negative implications to other applications so should be evaluated carefully.
