Omni-Path fabrics support fat-tree topologies consisting of up to three tiers and implemented using CN5000 Switches in conjunction with DCSes. Without considering oversubscription or port bifurcation, a two-tier fat tree made of CN5000 Switches alone supports up to 1,152 native ports. A single DCS can also serve as the upper tier, with its internal topology configured as a two-tier fat tree. This setup provides a robust solution with minimal cabling and supports 576 native ports.

Three-tier fat trees implemented with CN5000 Switches alone can support up to 27,648 native ports. Using a DCS for the upper two tiers reduces this to 13,824 native ports, again minimizing cabling.
