Cornelis Technical Documentation

4.2.1. Nodes, Hosts, and Endpoints

While the terms nodes, hosts, and endpoints are often used interchangeably in common use, for the purposes of this document, note the following:

  • A node or host is defined as a server with a Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path SuperNIC installed.

  • Endpoint refers to a single Cornelis CN5000 Omni-Path SuperNIC.

When the hosts of a given fabric contain only a single endpoint, the terms are often used interchangeably. If the hosts contain multiple endpoints, these terms should not be conflated.
